Contribute to the welfare of hospitalized children by offering visits from professional artists called Giggle Doctors, who will give them laughter and dreams during their stay in the hospital.
In France, one in two children is hospitalized before the age of 15. For these children, hospitalization is often a test: they are far from their family environment and the disease takes precedence over their childhood. The association Theodora's mission is to contribute to the welfare of hospitalized children by offering visits from professional artists called "Giggle Doctors".
The artists of Théodora are there to remember with their performances life, laughter and play. They allow children to escape the hospital universe and find their own world of laughter, magic, games, imagination and fantasy. Their goal is to break the isolation of these children, offer them a window to the outside, give way to their imagination.
The Giggle Doctors are considered members of the hospital team. They offer a precious moment of relaxation for children, but also for parents and caregivers. It is important to emphasize that the Giggle Doctors are professionals who intervene with the child only after consulting the health professionals.
The parents also benefit from the presence of the artists and, like their children, they can escape from the hospital environment thanks to the performances of the Giggle Doctors.
- Visit the children individually in their hospital rooms, offering them a moment of improvisation, magic, play or music, depending on how the child feels, and help them escape from the routine of hospitalization.
Each week, a Giggle Doctor visits children in their room, so that they can escape from the hospital world and find their own world, made of laughter, magic, games, imagination and fantasy.
