Entreculturas develops a program to improve employability and job placement in 18 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, to mitigate job loss and promote education as a tool to get out of this situation.
One of the main actions is to provide the teaching staff with the technological tools necessary to serve the student population in this distance education modality: smartphones, computers or tablets and Internet connection, among others. Since teachers are considered one of the most strategic professional groups in a country and key to the quality of education. And in cases where their salary is so limited that it does not cover basic needs and the abandonment of the profession is high, they are offered an economic bonus so that they and their families have better access to food.
On the other hand, the pandemic situation has also made it difficult to develop the training courses, since only between 20 to 30% of students have internet at home. For this reason, didactic resources have been produced, both for PC and mobile devices, in virtual, downloadable, and printable mode and trained tutors in the management of these resources to guarantee the continuity of the program.
