Campaign objectives
- Ensure an optimal overall development and a good state of health, minimising as much as possible the effects of diseases which are related to the pre-school age and to the environment.
- Prevent diseases caused by parasites, which are very frequent due to the lack of hygiene, through the provision of anti-parasite treatment.
Description
The mission of the Friends of Rimkieta Foundation is to develop the best possible living conditions in the Rimkieta neighbourhood (one of the poorest in Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso), especially for its women and children, and particularly with regard to their education, food and health.
Activities
- Complement the nutritional programme by ensuring the intake of fruit, cereals, starchy and dairy products.
- Supplement the kindergarten pupils (450 people) with vitamins, ferrous sulphate and folic acid.
- Supply anti-parasite medication, as an essential measure to prevent infectious diseases caused by parasites, which are very frequent in Africa due to the poor state of the water, contaminated food due to the lack of means of preservation, etc.
Who will benefit?
450 pre-school children from the most vulnerable families in Rimkieta, one of the poorest neighbourhoods of Burkina Faso's capital, Ouagadougou.
