The program Educate a Child launched in 2012 by UNHCR’s seeks to orient the organization and its partners to address some of the major challenges affecting refugee education, including inadequate access to education opportunities, poor quality education and weak partnerships, among others.
Has been targeted 12 priority countries where the needs of primary education access are particularly acute. These countries are: Chad, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Sudan, Uganda, Syrian Arab Republic, Yemen, Islamic Republic of Iran, Malaysia and Pakistan.
The goal for 2016 is to have educated 3 million refugee children who currently have no access to any education.
- Build a classroom and provide it with the necessary equipment, desks, chairs for teachers, boards, etc.
- Distribute 50 school uniforms and 50 pairs of shoes to protect the dignity of children.
- Provide textbooks of different materials and workbooks and other teaching materials, including notebooks, pencils and backpacks for refugee children.
Thanks to NiceQuest and its collaborators, 50 refugee children will have access to quality education and obtain the skills and knowledge necessary to become functional adults.
