Campaign objectives

Improve access to food in the common pots of the Comas district to ensure food and mitigate the effects of COVID-19.

Description

In Peru, 1 out of every 8 people suffers from malnutrition, and 40% of the population between 6 and 35 months of age suffers from anemia, which causes irreversible damage to their health, since the first three years of life increased brain development, 85%.

Due to the crisis caused by Covid-19 in metropolitan Lima, family income has been reduced by 33%, making the family basket more and more expensive and increasing hunger in thousands of households.

In order to fight against hunger, women from the most precarious areas of the country have created communal pots. It is estimated that there are 2,219 pots in 30 districts of Lima that feed more than 238,000 people.

So far, Action Against Hunger has supported 109 pots in Lima, delivering 16.51 tons of food and 4,788 hygiene and protection kits, we can help more.

Through this project, we want to ensure the supply of nutritious food to the common pots of the district of Comas, Lima, Peru.
