Access to health care in remote villages in Himalayas
Campaign objectives

To provide access to basic health services to the population of the Region of Humla, in Nepal.

Educate the importance of health and hygenic habits.

Description

In order to provide access to basic health services to the population and improve their living conditions, Healt Us Nepal created a Medical center in Simikot, a village in the middle of the Himalayas. It is a very impoverished area, so remote and abrupt. There are no roads and the average walk between villages is 6-7 hours.

In the center of Simkiot is provided medical attention to remote villages and vulnerable people. But also, visiting at home of those who cannot reach our center. In addition they run focused health actions in remote villages to prevent illnesses.

Through the Pharmacy it is possible to universalizing access to medicines and accompanying the patients through all the treatment and administrating good quality meds. At the same time, the pharmacy has a medical center extension that allows to complement the public health center, and give basic treatments, track patients and diseases, and promote hygienic habits focusing in younger generations.
