Guarantee that no family is left without access to food.
The current pandemic is fundamentally affecting the most fragile, who are seeing their living conditions rapidly and intensely worsen.
Right now, the epicenter of the crisis is in the Americas. Specifically, on October 19, 2020, the WHO reported 8,426,275 confirmed cases and 314,837 deaths in the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, although it is evident that the number of cases is higher since the capacity and transparency in the count of data is not total.
The present Caritas in these countries provide reception and care to people who have seen their situation worsen due to the pandemic and who have been left without access to such basic rights as food. Assistance is provided in the coverage of basic needs and hygiene and personal protection products. They are also provided not only with emotional and psychological support, as many people have seen how the lockdown measures have made it difficult to coexist and reconcile work and family life, increasing conflicts, but also support for livelihoods promoting solidarity economy actions.
- Provide food and hygiene products
- Give access to medicines
- Counseling and psychological support
- Solidarity economy actions to guarantee livelihoods.
The beneficiaries will be the people assisted in the Caritas of Spain, Guatemala, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, Venezuela.
